Comments on XANDER SCHAUFFELE and SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER LIV GOLF.

XANDER SCHAUFFELE and SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER may be in different positions than LIV players and Scottie Scheffler who are currently eligible for Ryder Xander School. The Saudi Arabia Support Tour players were submitted to the Ryder Cup and PGA Championship and were approved after the Professional Golfers’ Association of America added LIV to its “approved visits” list, allowing LIV players to gain membership of the organisation, which is a prerequisite for being allowed to play against European teams. Brooks Koepka was the only LIV player to compete for Team USA in the 2023 tournament in Rome, but only after receiving a wild card from captain Zach Johnson. The PGA Tour’s decision to lift the ban on VIV players also opens the door for opening day champions Bryson DeCheshboe and Dustin Johnson, as well as the rest of us. Xander Schauffel named Johnson last year when asked who his pairing partner would be, leaving out his Ryder Cup teammates, including close friend Patrick Kanlai, and would welcome the latter’s inclusion, although Schaeffler may not be so welcoming of these LIV players. The world No. 1 suggested earlier this year that LIV quitters should face some kind of sanction for leaving the PGA Tour. He told Golf Channel:

“I think it’s a different level of player. There were players who left the tour and sued him, which I wasn’t very happy about. And there were other guys who wanted to leave and do other things, and they all made their own decisions. And I have no hard feelings towards the guys who left.

“But the way to come back, it wouldn’t have been a very popular decision, I think, if they had just come back like nothing happened. They kind of left and… they left our tour, that’s just part of it. Please express your opinion! What do you think about the decision to delete the ban on VIV players? Please tell us about this in the comment section. This may be a way for them to come back, but they shouldn’t come back without contributing to the tour. »

After the change was announced, the PGA Tour said, “In the future, all LIV golfers will be eligible to compete in the PGA Championship, and all American players who earn Ryder Cup points or are added to Team USA will be eligible to compete in the PGA Championship. Captains members will be eligible to participate. “This is consistent with the trend of LIV golfers who have competed in the PGA Championship the past two years. BROOKS COEPKA was a member of the US team last year at Cup Ryder.

The DP world of PGA and Europe has announced a “framework agreement” for unification with the financial driver LIV, an investment fund in Saudi Arabia, and the debate on male golf reunification has continued for more than a year.
